This is a rewarding Executive Headship; you will be able to lead our coastal schools on to the next stages of their journeys: and understand what their journeys might look like as well as having a clear vision for the future development of the Federation.

It is an exciting opportunity for the new Executive Headteacher who, as a dynamic, innovative, and experienced professional, will lead the schools to become outstanding and to fully meet the needs of the community it serves, in an ever-changing educational landscape.

In particular, we are looking for an Executive Headteacher who;

  • Has strong leadership and the ability to develop the Federation team, to be their best and to work together as one team for the best of the children and the Federation, whilst still keeping a strong bond as a staff team within each school.
  • Possesses a good understanding of school financial planning, being able to look and recognise the strengths of staff across the two schools and make strategic decisions to safeguard the future of the Federation. Who, through business-like management skills, is able to source funding opportunities to improve facilities and resources for the Federation.
  • Has the experience, motivation and resilience to move the federation forwards and embrace any further challenges.
  • Understands that thriving schools can be the beating heart of a rural community and that their success or otherwise affects the wider community.
  • Will work with the subject leader roles, supporting staff in planning a challenging and engaging curriculum. A professional who shows commitment to the whole breadth of curriculum and a passionate determination to utilise our local areas and creative subjects as part of children’s learning and development.
  • Is aware of their responsibility, as Executive Headteacher of Church of England schools, to maintain their faith commitment and their caring and nurturing environments while continuing to improve our drive to achieve excellent results.
  • Exhibits confidence, empathy and a clear focus on continuing to build a healthy workplace culture to benefit the wellbeing of staff and pupils.
  • Understands the values of the school in welcoming children and families of all backgrounds and abilities and ensuring that they all have the best support in place to achieve.
  • Is an inspirational leader who is committed to delivering the Schools’ vision for the children, staff and communities we serve.
  • Has the expertise to build a senior leadership team across the Federation to secure leadership capacity for the future.
  • Promotes and enhances the wellbeing of the team, developing a distributed leadership, nurturing opportunities for all staff to learn and grow to their full potential.

We can offer you:

  • Happy, caring and supportive schools, with well-behaved children who respect each other and have a passion for learning.
  • Excellent school locations and areas
  • A Governing Body that is committed to providing support on all matters including more sensitive or difficult issues - this includes the wellbeing of all staff members – and which is experienced, committed and passionate about our schools and ensuring our children reach their potential.
  • Support from the parents, Local Authority, Diocese of York, and a dedicated staff team.
  • An ambitious curriculum, which aims to give every child a love for learning and enriching opportunities.
  • Relocation assistance and competitive remuneration package through the OA
