If you are able to inspire everyone to ‘think big’ when it comes to climate change and environmental projects, then this is the role for you.

This is a great chance to use your creativity and experience to help lead Ryedale District Council to achieve its ambitious climate change agenda developed following the Councils declaration of a climate emergency. You will use your forward thinking attitude to drive the delivery of a range of climate change projects. If you want to be a big part of Ryedale’s vision of becoming a carbon net zero  district and you have experience of overseeing the delivery of projects and campaigns, then you could be the person delivering this through a range of actions, including energy efficiency, renewable technologies, recycling and active travel solutions.

This is your opportunity to play a key role in delivering an ambitious programme of activities to mitigate the council’s carbon impact through the Council’s agreed Climate Change Action Plan. You will provide expert contributions using your specialist knowledge of environmental and sustainability issues, to deliver innovative and inspiring projects across the district, which will ensure positive change and provide significant economic benefits to Ryedale.

Ryedale is a unique place to live and work with a landscape, environment and natural assets which are unparalleled.  We want to ensure we play our part in protecting it for future generations whilst also using it to help develop and support our economy to grow in a sustainable way.  You will be part of the Economic Development team and use your experience of working collaboratively across departments and with external partners to deliver innovative ideas.

Our employees have access to a variety of competitive benefits including generous leave entitlement, career average pension scheme with excellent benefits, access to salary sacrifice schemes/discounts and agile and flexible working.
