Job Title: Graduate Trainee – Business Development Assistant – Health and Adult Services

Location: County Hall, Northallerton
Grade: E, F, G
Salary: 1-6 months £19,698, rising to £20,493 after 6 months and then £22,627 for the final 12 months of the scheme.
Contract: 2 years fixed term position as part of the NYCC graduate programme
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

We now have an exciting opportunity for a graduate to join our Health and Adult Services Team as a Graduate Trainee – Business Development Assistant

 

Health and Adult Services operates as a provider of care services across the whole of North Yorkshire.  Operating care homes, supported living, short breaks respite services and Day Centres as well as providing domiciliary care to people in their own homes .  These services must operate within NYCC policies and procedures as well as national legal frameworks laid out in legislation such as The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014, which contains the parameters by which the independent regulator Care Quality Commissions monitors and inspects our services.     

 

Change in Health & Adult Services Provider Services is rapid, being influenced by both national and local agendas. In light of this, it is necessary to constantly review methods of service delivery within operational practice to ensure we provide the best outcomes for the people of North Yorkshire, whilst managing this within the context of significant financial challenge.

Working within the HAS Care Provider Services team to provide strategic, governance, project and change management for the services that we operate across North Yorkshire the successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop the following:

 

·       Understanding and application of key policies and procedures

·       Understanding of and skills required to work in political environment

·       Understanding and application of monitoring and analysis skills 

·       Active learning to develop interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders

·       Understanding and application of supporting the delivery of regulated and non - regulated activities

·       Project management skills, leading on specific areas of development

·       Research, report writing and presentation skills

·       Understanding and application of equality and diversity legislation

·       Interaction with wider directorate, opportunity to develop knowledge and understanding of adult social care and public health

·       Cross-directorate working

·       Partnership working, particularly with Health and Social Worker partners

·       Working across North Yorkshire – develop knowledge of the diversity of the county, and the challenges and opportunities of rurality
