Graduate Project Officer HROD

Location: North Yorkshire County Council, County Hall
Grade: E, F, G
Salary: First six months at £19,171, second six months at £19,945, final 12 months at £22,021
Contract: 2 year fixed term positions as part of the NYCC graduate programme
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week
Venue for interview: County Hall, Northallerton (Covid Permitting) or alternatively we will hold interviews via online video call.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Trainee with a keen interest in HR and Organisational Development to join our awarding winning HR Service.

As Graduate Trainee you will work closely with experienced and dedicated HR colleagues and managers both within directorates and corporately, to support the efficient and effective delivery of the Council’s workforce strategy, directorate service and workforce plans. As you progress in your role you will provide support to managers, to develop their skills through provision of professional advice, support and coaching, briefings and training on staff management issues. 

In addition to dedicated support and training, you will gain experience from working with highly skilled HR and OD professionals and other partnerships, both within the Council and with partner organisations. You will also develop a good understanding and experience of working for a large, highly regarded organisation and gain knowledge of HR & OD professions across a range of functions.

As Graduate Trainee within the HR Shared Service Team you will provide HR and project support to both corporate and directorate and teams across the Council in both generalist and specialist disciplines. In addition, you will support on and deliver one of a range of HR Projects at any one time to effectively meet the organisation’s needs.

We will invest in your training and you will receive mentoring from a member of the senior management team, in addition you will have the opportunity to attend professional training: Employment Law Seminars, CIPD regional branch events and seminars and relevant commercial skills or project management training.
