Are you an inspiring Team Leader looking for a new challenge with North Yorkshire County Council?

We currently have a part time/ fixed term opportunity for an Additional Resource Team Leader to join the Scarborough and Whitby Reablement Teams.

The Reablement team is a community support team that plays a vital role in enabling people with a range of needs to live more independently. We work hard to promote independence, dignity and choice to people living in their own homes. Along with providing care and support such as: personal care, assistance with meal preparation and medication support we encourage people to explore options to further promote independence through utilising equipment, telecare and community resource's, to enable people to live fulfilled lives and engaged with their communities.

By promoting independence, choice and control our Reablement Team support people and to build skills and develop confidence to build a positive future.

As an Additional Resource Team Leader, reporting directly to the registered manager, you will work with existing Team Leaders to ensuring that the direct care and support provided by the team of Care & Support Workers within Whitby and Scarborough area is safe, effective, responsive, caring and well led and complies with both the Care Quality Commission regulated activities and NYCC policies and procedures.

The service is delivered between 7.30-10pm, 7 days a week. With Team Leaders providing support between 7 am- 7pm on variety of shifts, including weekend working. Shifts are usually a combination of 7-3pm/ 11-7pm/ 9-5pm on a rota basis.

Whilst we require an NVQ level 3 in Care/Promoting Independence or CQF Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care, we will support those who have a minimum of NVQ Level 2 Care/Promoting Independence or QCF Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care to be nominated for the Level 3 whilst in post.

In addition to this, future career options for the Team Leader could be to work as a Social Care Coordinator undertaking assessments and reviews to determine a person’s level of need or as a Registered Manager.
