Are you experienced in Financial Management at Strategic Level? Are you looking for a challenging role within a forward thinking organisation? Would you like to part of new initiative delivering the Department of Education’s flagship School Resource Management Advisers contract?
We are seeking a Deputy Head of Financial Consultancy to schools to join our team in delivering high quality financial support. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, you will be responsible for a portfolio of work including product and service developments, leading on financial consultancy to schools and academies and business development. You will also be responsible for keeping services under review and proposing changes to structures, procedures and working methods that will improve the efficient use of resources and effectiveness of service delivery to customers, undertake a lead role in the development of new services within the FMS Team and take a lead role in the provision of financial advice, information and guidance in the Local Authority strategic school review process and the schools causing financial concern process.

We are ambitious to further develop and expand our service offer in the changing education market across the North of England. The Service operates as part of North Yorkshire Education Services. We are delighted to have been successful in securing work with the Department for Education to carry out School Resource Management Reviews in schools and academy trusts in the North East, Yorkshire and Humber area which will offer a rewarding and challenging opportunity to support schools and trusts to deliver improvements. Your role will be pivotal to our success.
To be successful you will be confident in your financial ability – evidenced through an appropriate qualification and experience. You will be able to demonstrate your commercial acumen, innovative thinking, drive and leadership. Your skills may not have been developed in the education sector but you will be able to demonstrate how you will add value to the team and have a passion for supporting the work of schools and academies.
The role is based at County Hall, Northallerton with potential for some home working, and will give access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, generous holiday entitlement and access to NYCC employee’s Everybody Benefits Scheme.
