Farm Weekend Worker based at Mowbray School, Bedale, North Yorkshire
Mowbray School is a North Yorkshire County Council school, we are a thriving, caring and popular Special school and we educate over two hundred and seventy children aged 3 to 16 years with a variety of learning difficulties.
The school is an exciting, busy, high achieving, enjoyable and challenging school to work in. The school is unique in that it has it’s own 5.5 acre onsite farm and a separate one acre wild life area. The farm has livestock, including rare breed sheep, pigs and turkeys, which are part of rare breed programs. In addition to this we have chickens, goats, horses and donkeys.
There is also a horticulture section to the farm, with poly tunnels and growing areas. Our pupils and staff use the farm to acquire new skills, follow set qualifications and the therapy which the activities subsequently offer.
We need to appoint a farm weekend worker who will look after the animals at the weekend.
Please take a look at our school website which provides more detailed information about the school http://www.mowbrayschool.co.uk
Anyone who meets the job specification and is interested in the job, is advised to visit the school and meet with our site manager to find out more about the role and the school.
