Are you passionate about providing high quality care for children, young people and their families? We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Supervisor to join our established Safeguarding team based at Richmond.

We are looking for a Practice Supervisor who will share our values and passion to improve outcomes for children and young people; you will have a good understanding of the challenges and diverse needs that children and families face and want to truly make a positive change. You will become part of our highly regarded Children’s Service which continues to receive national recognition for its innovative approach, dedicated to supporting children and young people in remaining close to their home and local community, which has a demonstrably positive impact on effecting change for children and families.

As Practice Supervisor you will recognise the qualities and the aspects of the Strengthening in Relationship Practice model, which puts effective relationships with children and families at its heart and encourage an environment which supports, reflects, develops and celebrates good practice and outcomes for children and families. You will be a great communicator who strongly believes in a relationship based approach when working with children and families in the community, ensuing multi-agency networks are developed and maintained, whilst being part of a dedicated team that shares ideas, experiences and provides support.

You will drive forward the promotion and development of the Strengthening in Relationship Practice model whilst being responsible for the effective management of social work practice through social work supervision and work to ensure the safe and effective delivery of services to Children and Families in accordance with Children and Families’ Policies and Procedures.

In addition we support our social workers through various training opportunities including: the Firstline programme which develops good social work managers into outstanding leaders; the National Assessment and Accreditation system (NAAS) which enabling child and family social workers to develop skills and knowledge to improve outcomes for children and families and the Centre for Systemic Social Work (CfSSW) programme which prepares the next generation of leaders of children’s services through a two year teaching and coaching programme.

You will be fully qualified, holding a social work professional status (CQSW, DipSW, CSS, PQCCA) and have a thorough understanding of social work practice, Ofsted regulations, associated legislation and guidance and be able to manage care proceedings and complex child protection decisions.
