We are a friendly, welcoming, child-centred  primary school, which  is  in  the beautiful seaside resort of Scarborough, on the Yorkshire coast. The school works closely with their communities and  their  core values are demonstrated on a daily basis.

This is a rewarding Headship; you will be able to lead our coastal school on the next stage of our journey and by incorporating a clear  vision  for  the future  development of our  school, plan what that journey might look like.

It is an exciting opportunity for the new  Headteacher  who, as a dynamic,  innovative,  and  experienced  professional, will  lead  the  school  to  become  outstanding  and to  fully  meet  the  needs  of  the  community  it serves in an  ever-changing  educational  landscape. 

Your remit will be to raise standards by developing the school, with  an  ability  to effect change at pace  and  to  work collaboratively  with  colleagues,  in the  school,  across  the  school,  and  with the  wider communities.

About You 

To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate a proven record of accomplishment of working with children, have recent school leadership experience and be committed to providing the children with a high-quality  education and environment. 

You  will:

•  Be  someone  who  recognises  the  importance  of maintaining  the  schools existing  values  and  aims while  in-stilling their  own  leadership  and  identity.
•  Be committed  to creating  a safe, caring  environment where pupils  can  thrive  socially, emotionally,  intellectually, creatively,  morally and  physically
•  Be a committed leader with excellent interpersonal skills,  who can motivate and manage all stakeholders, effectively shaping and delivering the strategic plan.
•  Have the skills as a passionate leader to make a difference, to enhance teaching and learning, enriching the personal development of our young children and ensuring everyone - staff, governors and pupils achieve their potential. 
•  Have strong leadership and the ability to develop the school team, to be their best and to work together as one team for the benefit of the children and whilst still keeping a strong bond as a staff team within the school and having the ability to challenge robustly and constructively.
•  Possess  a good understanding of school financial planning, being able to look and recognise the strengths of staff across the school and make strategic decisions to safeguard the future of the school
•  Have the experience, motivation and resilience to move the school forwards and embrace any further challenges. Understand that a thriving school can be the beating heart of a community and that their success or otherwise affects the wider community.
•  Work with the subject leaders, supporting staff in planning a challenging and engaging curriculum. 
•  Be a passionate and determined professional who shows commitment to the whole breadth of the curriculum, utilising, not only our local areas but further afield to enhance cultural capital as part of our children’s learning and development.
