Salary:  £20,441 - £21,189  per annum pro rata (Up to £10.98 per hour)
Location: Nidderdale Children's Resource Centre, Ripon Road, Harrogate

Contract hours: 18 hours per week

The post holder will be part of the Nidderdale team and will support them will all aspects of maintenance of the properties, grounds and vehicles.

You will have individual responsibility for the timely, routine maintenance and repairs to a good and safe standard. To recognise and understand the importance of Health and Safety, including water safety and fire protection equipment and records (e.g. Electric check, fire alarms, emergency lighting, automatic fire detection, fire doors etc.)     

You will perform general maintenance of gardens, buildings and fixtures and fittings to ensure clear safe access to the property at all times. Including general handy person work within the building i.e. decorating, moving furniture, cleaning drains, replacing light bulbs, basic plumbing and joinery etc.


You should have experience overseeing compliance work with external contractors and to liaise with and monitor maintenance contractors while they are working on site and ensure paperwork is completed and any required actions carried out.

You will need a strong team work ethic and be able to work in partnership with the team as required to support the running of the home while being sensitive to the needs of the individual children who may be living there, taking account of race, culture language and religion.

 


The Key characteristic requirements of this post are experience in the maintenance of buildings, gardens and resources, commitment, flexibility and some understanding of the needs of young people who have complex health needs and who may present with behaviour which challenges others.
