An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced social worker. The post is a Social Work Professional Learning & Development Officer.

 

You would work as part of the Social Work Professional Learning & Development Team (SWPLDT), based within the Training and Learning Directorate but working very closely and in partnership with the Children and Young Persons service.

 

The SWPLDT is a small team, friendly team dedicated to supporting and developing the social work learning experience and the continuous development of best practice. We provide a range of specialist, tailored support to student social workers and qualified social workers.

 

 

This role centres on the delivery of the Assessed and Supported Year of Employment (ASYE) programme for Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW’s) in Children’s Services. This includes monitoring progress, high challenge/high support, celebrating and learning from good practice and quality assurance.

 

The ASYE is a national, one year, employer-led programme. It supports NQSW’s to consolidate their degree learning, develop capability and strengthen their professional confidence across the full range of the Professional Capability Framework and the Knowledge and Skills statement for child and family practitioners.

 

You would be joining a local, regional and national community of practice dedicated to improve standards and outcomes for our children, young people and their families.

You will have:

 

  • A professional social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
  • Substantial post-qualifying experience in a social work role
  • Stage Two Practice Educator Qualification, or Practice Teaching Award
  • An understanding of the challenges and opportunities within social work professional development today
  • A commitment to the CYPS Strengths in Relationships Practice Model
  • A comprehensive knowledge of current, relevant legislation
  • Ability to manage a workload and prioritise service requirements
  • Experience relevant to the role
  • Proven interpersonal and negotiation skills
