Location: Countywide. Based in Northallerton however the service is flexible. 

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the PLP programme which supports young people (16-25) to develop and progress through a person-centred programme. The programme is based on a clear understanding of how each person learns best; strategies that will help them achieve their goals and the support they require within the learning environment.

As PLP Speech and Language Therapist you will work across the PLP hubs to develop speech, language and communication provision for young adults with learning disabilities; including working directly with young people, either on a one-to-one basis or group environment. You will manage a caseload and in accordance with service policies and professional role, deliver a range of specific evidence based speech and language therapy interventions.

You will work collaboratively and innovatively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to enhance personalised, functional packages of support and intervention for young people and support and advise the education staff, and parents on a wide range of organisational and curriculum issues relating to speech language and communication needs. In addition you will work to develop and sustain integrated working and effective relationships with health, statutory and voluntary agencies, and professionals within the broader range of services for children and families to support young people, specifically within the SEND locality hub and PLP.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Speech and Language Therapist with experience of working with young people with speech, language and communication needs. You will be focused on achieving positive life outcomes for young people and establishing respectful, trusting relationships with young people, their families and carers.
