Northfield House, at Knayton near Thirsk, is a spacious modern detached house providing high quality care with the flexibility to meet specific individual needs. Our aim is to listen to the service user, their relatives and staff and continually assess the quality of the service we offer. Northfield House have a proven track record of providing a high standard of person-centred care - currently holding a 'Good' rating by CQC to back up their reputation.

As a care assistant at Northfield House, Knayton near Thirsk, you will assist adults with learning disabilities to lead an independent lifestyle, while providing support to manage their day-to-day care needs; to develop impulse control; as well as to manage their behaviour and reactions to their emotional experiences.

A high priority is placed on providing fulfilling experiences for all our service users. Regular social visits and opportunities for learning are provided throughout the year. These include visits to swimming pools, bowling alleys, cinemas, walking, places of interest and any other activities that are interesting and stimulating for the people we support.

Residents at Northfield House have complex needs and communicate in different ways so supporting them effectively is essential, giving a consistent responses and appropriate action when individual needs change, following a person centred approach to supporting the adults who live here.

We now have a Full-time and Part-time roles available including weekend working on a rota system, experience is preferred but not essential, full training will be provided along with ongoing support, you will need passion, dedication and commitment to caring for adults with a learning disability along with good communication skills and a friendly personality and calming presence.
