Home Support Worker - Jane Caress, Masham, Bedale, Leyburn and surrounding villages - Up to £10.50 per hour

- £10.00 to £10.50 per hour, plus travel time and a contribution towards mileage equating to £7.25 per visit. So for each hourly call you receive £17.25-£17.75 Bank holidays are paid at double time.

Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a Full and a Part Time enthusiastic and reliable Support workers to join our thriving agency providing a high-quality and much-needed service to vulnerable/elderly people to work in the Masham, Bedale and Leyburn areas. We are pleased to say that we don't have a high turnover of staff because not do we only listen to when our clients need us, we also listen to when our staff are available, there is no pressure from us to work outside of your availability.
Due to the area, we cover, a car driver is essential, we limit travel as much as possible between clients and we do not do any visits for less than an hour. There is always someone at the end of the phone should a Support Worker or client need advice or support.
What will you be doing?
Our Support workers go out in the community to enable our clients to live independently in their own homes. Every client will have had a bespoke care plan which will include supporting them with everyday tasks such as personal care, food prep, medication, shopping, housework, and social support. However, the primary objective is to help them get the most out of life and to be able to do what they want, when they want.
Previous experience is not essential: a “can-do” attitude is all it takes; we offer a 12-week paid induction where you will shadow experienced Support Workers and have all the training you need to give you the skills required. At the end of the 12-week induction you will have gained the recognised Care Certificate.
Who are we looking for?
You need to be calm and patient with an ability to think on your feet and remain professional in occasionally stressful situations – but above all, you need to be 100% committed to helping improve the quality of life of our clients, however small that maybe.
You also need to live in or within a reasonable distance to the area that we cover and have a car that you can use for work, a clean criminal record and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless you are exempt.
