Here at North Yorkshire County Council our Technology and Change Department plays a vital part in improving and developing services across the whole Council for the benefit of our customers and staff. This means that our department is at the heart of exciting transformational change projects working with core public services across North Yorkshire such as service re-design, technical project delivery, digital and innovation and have recently been at the forefront of the Council’s Covid 19 response.

 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our team as we prepare to deliver the next phase of transformation in North Yorkshire.

 

The role

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead the implementation of large, complex projects. You will work closely with a wide range of senior internal and external stakeholders, including senior managers and staff across the organisation and within partner organisations, to ensure the successful delivery of projects.  You will ensure appropriate governance routes are mapped and understood and undertake complex planning to ensure successful delivery.   You will be part of the management team for the Projects and Programmes function and will offer direct support and coaching to those involved in the delivery of change. We are particularly looking for candidates to work on transformation within Health and Adult Services and / or as part of the North Yorkshire Local Government Re-organisation Programme.

What you will bring

To be successful in this role you will need to have knowledge and experience of project and programme management techniques and tools and strong leadership qualities. You will have a relevant degree and/or equivalent experience, and where possible, professional training in recognised project and change management methodologies. You will have experience of successfully managing complex stakeholders and resources to deliver high profile organisational change.
