What you will be doing…
This is an exciting role, ideal for graduates and those looking to enter the world of HR or those wanting to build on existing HR experience. The post-holder will be the main first point of contact for the service delivering high quality, commercial HR advice on HR policies, procedures, governance and terms and conditions. A key part of this role will be to lead on absence management cases. You will need to demonstrate a coaching style, taking a solution focussed approach to enable schools to deal with their staffing issues.
You will be predominantly based at County Hall, Northallerton, with some potential for remote working and will spend up to 50% of your time out and about working with schools across the patch so the ability to travel across the county is essential
What you will bring…
As an HR Adviser, you are a confident, self-motivated and organised individual, with a can do approach to work. You are personable and enthusiastic with a passion for delivering a great HR service as well as a team player, strong communicator, who is credible and able to build relationships quickly and win trust and confidence at all levels. Always thinking creatively, ready to challenge existing practices and identifying innovative solutions to meet changing business needs.
You are likely to have:
- Some knowledge of current employment legislation and good HR practice;
- Ability to manage and prioritise own workloads flexibly and in response to business demands, often working to tight deadlines;
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under own initiative;
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, positive attitude
