Salary: First six months at £19,171, second six months at £19,945, final 12 months at £22,021
Contract: 2 year fixed term positions as part of the NYCC graduate programme
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

As Graduate Trainee you will have the opportunity to apply and develop technical knowledge and skills across a range of specialisms including: business support, tourism, arts and culture and project management. You will be part of a dedicated service which promotes business, supports growth and unlock economic potential in Ryedale.
The role of Graduate Trainee is key in providing assistance and support to colleagues within the Economic Development, Business and Partnerships team. The role offers the opportunity to be involved in changing national landscape by balancing development and growth with sustainability and wellbeing. You will gain experience of all aspects of Economic Development work including:
• Developing a strong working knowledge of economic development and regeneration;
• Assisting and developing a range of projects which create jobs, achieve growth and develop the economy;
• Co-ordinating stakeholder consultation activities and analysing subsequent data;
• Taking responsibility for managing and maintaining various mailing lists and databases;
• Contributing to the generation of material for corporate communications;
• Supporting the organisation, delivery and management of events and festivals.
As Graduate Trainee you will be expected to participate in training opportunities, self-study and shadow colleagues to learn and develop your knowledge, skills and techniques. You will gain a good understanding of working in partnership with other organisations including District Councils, North Yorkshire County Council, Town and Parish Councils, whilst being supported by highly experienced colleagues.
