Are you ready to join us on our journey?  Supporting people to live THEIR lives the way THEY choose?

If so, why not join us. We are looking for social workers from all levels to help us realise our ambition of ensuring that all residents of North Yorkshire live longer, healthier, independent lives.

Whether you are a newly qualified social worker looking for your first opportunity or whether you are an experienced social worker looking for a new challenge, we have just the role for you.

With various hours available ranging from part time to full time and roles across both our independence and planned care teams, there really is something for everyone. The role offers a blended approach to working, with some time spent working with home and some time spent locally.

Whilst work can be undertaken from your home base, there will be a requirement to attend the office on occasions due to service need. While virtual working is promoted as a modern and efficient way of delivering services, the need for face-to-face visits will also be required at times, depending on the needs and circumstances of the individual you are working with. With this flexibility in mind, we encourage applicants to apply who might wish to work more flexibly or alternative hours (for example only weekends).

There’s no better time to start a career with us- the time for change and innovative approaches to delivering care is something you could be part of! We are fortunate to be able to invest in new professional leadership in Social Work, as well as developing wider career paths for staff. We fully recognise the need to support staff development and enhance their skills and experience, which we deliver through senior professionals within the service who can share the wealth of experience they have gained through years as social care practitioners.

As a Social Worker, you will undertake a range of asset and strength based assessments and interventions to ensure that adults with care and support needs and their carers achieve their desired outcomes and wellbeing to live independent lives. This will also include developing personalised care and support plans that represent best value.

You will determine eligibility for adults with care and support needs against the national standards and ensure that they are safe from harm but where harm or abuse is identified ensure the safety of the person and undertake the relevant safeguarding enquiries.

You will require a social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.  An

Enhanced Level DBS Disclosure is required for appointment to this post.

We know Adult Social work is a challenging profession. So it’s important to us that our social workers have manageable workloads, supportive and transparent management and the opportunity for continuous professional development.

We strive and excel in giving our colleagues commitment and high levels of support, enabling them to become the best social workers they can be. We are committed to creating a healthy culture where our social workers feel able to share their views, to achieve work/life balance and to continually learn and develop new ways of working.

We support the AYSE programme for newly qualified Social Workers and we will ensure you have an excellent training and learning provision to progress from Grade J to Grade K.

In addition to all of this, we also provide access a range of benefits including generous leave entitlement, flexible working, a local government pension scheme, salary sacrifice and employee discount benefits.

This is what makes us a great employer.
