Salary: The salary range for this post is from £75,370-£84,184 per annum. In addition, a market supplement payment of £2,400 is available to those at the top of the grade.

Grade: AD1

Hours: Full Time 37 hours 

 

This is an exciting new post in the Council. The post-holder will sit across both the CYPS Directorate and the HAS Directorate. Reporting managerially to DCS but professionally accountable to the DPH, this will provide an excellent opportunity to drive innovation and identify levers to improve health and reduce health inequalities for children and young people across the whole Council and wider system.

 

We are looking for a Public Health Consultant who is passionate about ensuring the best start in life for babies, children and young people and has a proven track record of leading, transforming and delivering interventions/services that improve public health outcomes.

 

You will also have experience of working with a wide range of partners and organisations involved in the commissioning and delivery of health and social care, including Local Authorities, voluntary sector and NHS organisations, and clinicians on health improvement and reduction of inequalities.

 

You will provide specialist public health leadership, advice and support to ensure ‘every child gets the best start in life’ and work to integrate health and social care across the North Yorkshire working closely with ICS colleagues, LA and wider stakeholders such as voluntary and community organisations to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities.

 

You will also have oversight of key services commissioned by the LA such as the Healthy Child Programme and will also help shape and influence strategic commissioning of other key services such as SEND services and CAHMS.

Public Health Specialist Registrar and Specialist Trainee applicants who are not yet on the GMC Specialist Register / GDC Specialist list in Dental Public Health / UKPHR must provide verifiable signed documentary evidence of being within 6 months of gaining entry at the date of interview.
