This post has arisen to assist with the delivery of the Council’s Ryecare Lifeline Service. The post is to provide cover for existing staff’s annual leave and sickness absences.

 

The salary is £12.02 per hour

Additional payments for shifts worked on weekends / nights : Weekend £30/shift, Night £44/shift

 

Salary:  Grade F, spinal points 9- 13 £12.02 - £12.93 (£23,194 to £24,948 per annum pro rata)

 

Hours: 8 per week

 

Closing date: Midnight Sunday 19th February 2023

Based at Ryedale House in Malton, Ryecare Lifeline Service handles emergency calls 24/7, 365 days a year and have been assisting North Yorkshire residents get help for over 30 years, making an invaluable contribution to the local community.

 

This post is to cover staff annual leave, peaks in demand and staff absences etc.

 

As a Ryecare Customer Advisor you will really feel as though you have made a difference to the lives of others each day, responding to customers in an empathetic and caring manner using protocols in place to support the caller. Due to the type of emergency calls handled, applicants must be emotionally resilient and able to remain calm under pressure. This role gives you the independence to prioritise your own workload, working under your own initiative within a framework of identified procedures and protocols, with full training and support provided so you are able to support the service effectively. Operators must demonstrate a caring, sympathetic, professional and responsible approach when dealing with vulnerable people and be effective communicators.

Flexibility is important as the successful applicant will be required to work on a shift basis which may include bank holidays, which currently is provided on a 3 week rota. You may also be called upon to cover additional hours sometimes at short notice.

 

Duties include handling out of hours repair calls and dealing with any other emergency situation in Ryedale, Richmondshire, Craven, Selby and Scarborough areas.

 

The shift pattern in Ryecare is as follows:

2pm-10pm

10pm-6am

6am-2pm
