An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cook to support Springwater School in Starbeck, Harrogate.
This would particularly suit a candidate with a desire to make a difference and the drive to continuously improve and innovate to provide an experience that is always the best it can be, whilst working independently and embracing the schools ethos.
Springwater School is a vibrant and progressive day school, catering for students ranging from two to nineteen years. Offering places to students who may have profound and multiple, severe or physical difficulties, the majority of current students have co-existing or multiple needs. They also cater for students with autistic spectrum condition and elements of challenging behaviour.
This is a particularly rewarding opportunity to support the school in providing nutritious, balanced and highly tailored meals to meet the individual needs of each of the students.
The successful candidate would have sound, relevant catering experience, the ability to provide an outstanding service, and be organised to ensure all diets are catered for taking into account individual requirements and all allergen information.
You would be supported by the NYCC Catering Service management team and the school, with excellent training and induction to ensure you can fully succeed and drive this role forward.

- Regular supervision meetings,
- Support from our in house Technical Support Team, who will provide tailored menus, recipes and advice,
- Regular Cooks’ meetings to update on policies and network with colleagues,
- A nominated in-service mentor, contactable in the event of any queries,
- Modern technology to record food temperatures, complete ordering and stock control,
- 25 Hours per week, £9.94 per hour, Term Time Only, Approximately 8.45am - 1.45pm
