Kirkby and Great Broughton Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School is situated between the picturesque villages of Great Broughton and Kirkby-in-Cleveland 2 miles south of Stokesley. Perfectly nestled at the foot of the stunning North Yorkshire Moors National Park, the villages offer the ideal blend of rural village life - a small, close community which is very open and embracing of new people but is also with easy access to larger nearby towns and within a workable commute from cities such as York, Leeds, Newcastle and Sunderland.

A small, vibrant, rural primary school, currently rated as ‘good’ by Ofsted in 2017 and ‘outstanding’ by SIAMS in 2018, we are a warm, caring and inclusive school with well-behaved children. Based in the heart of the community, we have strong church and community links. Our curriculum is broad and is underpinned by a strong Christian ethos; ‘Love of learning, love of life, love of one another’

We have good relationships with major stakeholders and are seeking to further develop our networking and collaborative cluster relationships with our neighbouring schools.

The governing body is seeking to appoint a committed and experienced leader with a remit to further shape our school improvement plan. You will raise standards, particularly in developing teaching staff, providing clear leadership and improving outcomes for all our children. You will need to be effective and highly motivated with outstanding knowledge and skills in leadership, communication, team building, goal setting, change management and above all be passionate about teaching and learning and providing our children with an outstanding educational experience. An outstanding practitioner, you must have a clear vision of what education looks like in a Voluntary Aided school.

In return, you will receive support from the governors, parents, diocese, LA and the Swaledale Alliance.

We would very much welcome school visits, so if you would like the opportunity to come along and find out more information about our fabulous school please email Steve Cooper at North Yorkshire County Council or call him on 01609 536578.
