Caedmon College has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced senior leader to join us from September 2022. This is also a great opportunity for someone who is looking to move to the next stage in their leadership career.
If you are an experienced deputy looking for your first Head of School post, you will get the support and direction from an Executive Headteacher to help give you the best start possible. And for experienced school leaders looking to extend their experience, we can offer you coaching and mentoring to help develop your skills as a successful Head within the Whitby Secondary Partnership.
We are interested to hear from inspirational senior leaders, who are motivated, share our vision, and who are committed to the ethos and continued success of the school and Federation. As a leader, you should have the knowledge, skills and leadership qualities to inspire not just staff, but our pupils and parents.
At the Whitby Secondary Partnership, we believe in nurturing teachers and developing the school leaders of tomorrow. This is a chance for a talented secondary senior leader to join an established team, all of whom are committed to collaboration, helping to transform young lives across Whitby.
About Us – The Head of School will be responsible for both college sites:
Caedmon College is situated on the west side of Whitby and has two sites: the Normanby site has the 11-16 students and the Scoresby site houses Whitby Sixth Form (under Caedmon College’s DfE no.). Both sites have extensive playing fields, with tennis courts, as well as an all-weather pitch on the Scorseby site.
Normanby site: The original building on Normanby site was built in 1912 and has some fine, ‘period’ architectural features. More buildings have been added over the years and the school is well-resourced and well-maintained.
Scoresby site: this was formerly a middle school, Caedmon School, built in the 1960s. Caedmon School merged with Whitby Community College in 2014 to become Caedmon College. In September 2019, after some refurbishments, the Caedmon Sixth Form moved to Scoresby site and became Whitby Sixth Form.
The Whitby Secondary Partnership was formed in July 2019 when Eskdale School and Caedmon College were brought together to form a Federation, with a single Governing Body responsible for both schools. The Partnership was formed to ensure that the students of Whitby Whitby and its surrounding area would access the best possible education and opportunities.
