Our roles allow a flexible approach to working. Whilst work can be undertaken from your home base, there will be a requirement to attend the office on occasions due to service need. While virtual working is promoted as a modern and efficient way of delivering services, the need for face-to-face visits will also be required at times, depending on the needs and circumstances of the individual you are working with. With this flexibility in mind, we encourage applicants to apply who might wish to work more flexibly or alternative hours (for example only weekends).

Working to improve the lives of individuals– issues tackled include self-neglect, hoarding, dependence on alcohol or drug misuse, homeless prevention and supporting individuals and their families living with dementia. We do all of this alongside specialists in these areas, providing the most appropriate social work intervention.

North Yorkshire as a county has it all, rich in history and culture, outstanding natural beauty, vibrant cities, market towns, quaint villages, stunning rural and coastal landscape and wide open spaces. Harrogate has some fantastic places to visit including the Valley Gardens, Brimham Rocks, Pine Woods, Harrogate Theatre and RHS Harlow Carr and we are not too far from the Lake District, a jewel of the North. We also benefit from excellent road and rail links, with easy access to Leeds, York, Newcastle, Durham and even London.

We currently have Social Work opportunities working across the Ripon and Rural area and also the Harrogate District. With part time hours and full time hours available- there really is something for everyone! As an alliance with health, we are committed to providing joined up health and social care community services for adults. Through the pandemic staff have been support to continue in their vital role navigating the changing national and local changes together. As a Social Worker, forming collaborative partnerships will be key. You will work closely a variety of teams and agencies, including health colleagues, stronger communities and prevention teams, voluntary and independent sector, promoting health and wellbeing and preventing, reducing and delaying need, in line with the Care Act.

Through strength based assessments and interventions, you will support adults with care and support needs and their carers to achieve their desired outcomes and wellbeing. In order to achieve this, you will be experienced in developing personalised care and support plans that represent best value and in determining eligibility for adults with care and support needs against the national standards, ensuring they are safe from harm. You will also have a good working knowledge of current adult social care legislation and application of the legislative principles, including the Care Act 2014. To be eligible for this post you will have a professional Social Work Qualification, DipSW or CQSW and you will have current registration with Social Work England. Job Description

 

As stipulated in the amended  Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014, post holders must demonstrate evidence of having had a complete course of an authorised COVID-19 vaccine.

If you haven’t had a full course of the vaccination at the moment, you can still apply, but in line with new legislation you must have received both doses prior to your start date.  Alternatively, if you are medically exempt from receiving the vaccine, you can currently provide a self-declaration, but must have applied and received formal clinical exemption via the COVID Pass Route by 24 December 2021
