From £35,745 To £44,428  per annum pro rata + relocation support

North Yorkshire Council have a national reputation for excellence and we are looking for Social Workers across our Family Assessment and Support Teams.  We also welcome those who are looking to relocate.

The Role

Our Family Assessment and Support Teams work with children, young people and the families who are Children in Need and Child Protection.

 

We have high aspirations for our children and young people and always strive to work collaboratively with families and young people, working strongly with the belief that each child and young person has a network around them, which is essential to work alongside and tap into. We have an extensive training and learning offer to support our Social Workers in their work with children and families.

 

The role is very varied as we work with families on a short term basis whilst completing assessments and on a longer term basis working Child and Family Plans and Child Protection Plans and in some cases we complete pre proceedings work and issue care proceedings.  We work with all young people from birth up to the age of 18 having strong links with other agencies externally and teams in North Yorkshire.    

 

The team consists of a Team Manager and Practice Supervisors to support all our Social Workers in the team. The team have dedicated business support to enable Social Workers to spend more time with Children, Young People and their families. We have a well defined supervision policy which includes regular group supervisions, individual supervisions and opportunities to participate in County Wide practice model sessions, and engage in appreciative enquiry and conversation café’s about practice with our Principal Social Worker.

 

About You

 

We are looking for Social Workers with a ‘can do’ attitude who are child focussed, like to think outside of the box and are creative in their planning with children.  It does not matter whether you are starting out in your social work career, returning to practice or an experienced worker looking for a new challenge in either a different field or new authority. North Yorkshire Council offers excellent CPD and career progression. We are part of the Department of Education sector lead improvement programme and a member of The Yorkshire Urban and Rural Teaching Partnership.

The salary for the core role is £35,745 to £40,221 (pro rata) and the advance practitioner salary is £40,221 to £44,428 (pro rate) appointments are subject to experience and expertise.
