We now have an exciting opportunity for a graduate to join our Social Care Provider Services Team as a Graduate Trainee from September 2022.
Where other authorities have outsourced all of their provider services; given the size and scale in North Yorkshire we are committed to directly providing services alongside commissioned services; to ensure that our residents have high quality, outcome focussed support and choice, in particular for those with the most complex needs.
Our Social Care Provider Services Team support the delivery of care in our services across North Yorkshire. We operate day centres and respite services for people with learning disabilities and Care Homes for older adults as well as supporting many people to continue to live in their own homes.
Our vision for Social Care Provider Services in North Yorkshire is:

2. To support our teams and service to recover and reset following the impacts that the covid-19 pandemic has had on Care providers and the people that use our services.
3. To transform our offer to support national social care reforms
This post will provide support to, and gain valuable experience within the Social Care Provider Services team at NYCC.
The graduate will gain experience across all areas of Social Care provider Services over the first year, then with the opportunity to specialise in a chosen area in the second year, which will provide opportunity to lead a particular project. This is invaluable experience for a graduate to progress into a career in Social Care, having a mix of experience alongside a chosen specialism.
Under the direction of the Business Development Officer, the post-holder will be involved in the full breadth of the Social Care Provider Services portfolio areas during the first year, which will provide experience in Social Care Provider Operations, Strategy including Autism, Learning Disability and Infection Prevention control, Health and Safety, Property Management, including strands of work such as service re-design and supporting admissions into services. The post-holder will be involved in a range of support tasks, including:
- The gathering, analysis and interpretation of data
- Involvement in projects and programmes
- Contribution to the development and implementation of Social Care Provider Services strategies, programmes and action plans, which may include leading on the following areas: engaging key stakeholders, attending meetings, developing action plans, coordinating and writing communications, monitoring programmes.
During the second year, the post-holder will specialise in a preferred area of Social Care provider Services and take the lead on specific project work within this specialism.
