Do you have a strong, successful track record in education?
We are looking to appoint two Senior Education Advisers to our school improvement team. These are key roles in the council’s School Improvement Service and an exciting opportunity to work with a range of schools and settings across North Yorkshire, from towns and rural communities to schools on the coast. You will work with a wide variety of different types of schools and settings including Local Authority maintained schools and academies.
The post holder will support North Yorkshire County Council’s school improvement strategy, which centres on developing a self-improving school system, raising achievement and diminishing differences between vulnerable groups. You will currently be a respected serving practitioner with strong leadership experience and a successful track record in school improvement or you will be working in a relevant role within a Local Authority or MAT. You will have the skills, credibility, passion and experience to:
· influence, inspire and support others so that all children and young people can achieve their best
· build on the success of early years settings and schools in North Yorkshire
· challenge underperformance where it exists, and secure plans for improvement
· develop collaboration and partnerships between settings, schools, stakeholders and system partners
If you are interested in this post and would like to become a part of an authority with a strong track record, relentless focus on delivery and performance, we would welcome your application. If appointed, you will work in partnership with headteachers, school leaders and advisers from North Yorkshire’s School Improvement Service.
We understand the importance of workforce development and as such, you will be supported through regular continuing professional development opportunities to ensure you are well equipped with the skills and knowledge, to effectively deliver and improve the service. As a council we are very much committed to encouraging flexible working for our employees, including using modern technologies to support agile ways of working.
