Dunollie is a Residential and Nursing Care Home located on Filey Road in Scarborough. They have 50 beds in total, 30 in the main grade 2 listed part of the building, 12 in a connected garden Wing annex and 8 further beds in a separate house in the grounds.
They predominantly care for residents with physical health issues and a small number of residents with dementia. Their youngest residents are in their 50s and oldest is 100. Dunollie Residential Nursing Home provides long term care, respite care and end of life care. They are very pet friendly, with 2 residents with their own dog and cat as well as regular staff dog visitors.
The separate house in the grounds the ‘Lodge’ has 8 single en-suite bedrooms and is a nursing unit for people with enduring mental health conditions who can maintain a level of independence in a supported living environment such as the Lodge, but would have significant difficulty supporting themselves completely in the community if they were to live independently. The residents in the Lodge range between 50 and 70 years of age and are a mix of male and female.
Dunollie Residential and Nursing Home is rated Good in all areas from CQC (November 2021 inspection) and have a good reputation with the local hospice for providing good end of life care. Full staff training is provided, both on-line and face-to-face. Many of our care staff have achieved NVQ level 3 and we support any staff in furthering their skills and qualifications.
There is free parking on site and staff meals are provided. They offer enhanced overtime rates, with an additional bonus payment as overtime hours increase. They have a set, 2 week rota so staff can plan ahead knowing their shifts well in advance.
Full time hours for care staff is 38.5 hours per week. The shifts are 8am to 8 pm days and 8pm to 8am nights four days one week and three the next in the pattern Mon/Tue/Sat/Sun week 1, Wed/Thur/Fri week 2.
