As a Systems Development Officer you will be part of a large team of 40 people in Corporate Systems. Sitting within the Council’s Technology and Change Department, our team’s overall aim is to ensure the effective operation of key management information systems, so if you are looking for an opportunity to deliver, develop and support a range of systems across a vast network of offices, external users and partners, then this could be an exciting opportunity for you.

You will act as a lead for nominated applications, supporting your colleagues across a varied portfolio, including (but not limited to): You will predominantly be working with Education & Skills Systems based systems but will act as a lead for nominated systems, such as Synergy, Besafe health and safety, Tribal EBS Adult Learning, so that you can truly become a system expert to shape design, develop and implement enhancements and new functionality to meet business needs and statutory requirements.  You will also be responsible for the successful testing and implementation of any new bespoke system developments, components and upgrade changes, as well as providing a professional, high quality second line support service.  Knowledge of Education would be beneficial for this role.

 

You will act as a lead for nominated applications, supporting your colleagues across a varied portfolio, including (but not limited to): project management, highways and asset management and fleet / vehicle telematics systems. Therefore, an interest or experience in transport, project management and/or mapping/spatial work is preferred, but not essential.

You will truly become a systems expert, working collaboratively with internal and external partners, organisations and third party suppliers to help shape the current design and future developments of systems to meet business and statutory requirements. You will also be responsible for the successful testing and implementation of any new bespoke system developments, components and upgrade changes, as well as providing a professional, high quality second line support service.

Serving a workforce in excess of 20,000 people based in locations across North Yorkshire as well as external partners, we would be interested in hearing from you if you have significant experience in supporting, implementing and developing large information systems as well as data manipulation and integrity expertise. As an IT professional, excellent customer service and relationship building skills are a must.

*The successful candidate may be required to work full-time from home initially, in compliance with latest Covid-19 restrictions

 

Occasional out of hours working may be required to support system upgrades and changes, as well as occasional travel to other NYCC sites and supplier events.
