Grade: K

Contract: Permanent

Hours: to be discussed

Salary: £33,485 - £36,370 per annum pro rata

Location:  Morton on Swale, Northallerton. The role may include supporting other Children’s Resource Centres across North Yorkshire.  The service very much promotes flexible working with the ability to work remotely from other bases, as well as working from home. We provide exceptional technology and all the equipment to support home based working, to ensure we provide the best service possible.

We are looking for a Deputy Manager to work alongside the Registered Manager and other Deputy Manager at Morton on Swale Children’s Resource Centre near Northallerton.

We are a registered children's home, providing short breaks for children with disabilities. Some of the young people we work with have complex health needs, which may include moving, transferring, and emergency medication administration. We also support children with autism and some behaviours that can challenge. Staff receive regular training to meet these needs alongside a comprehensive induction package.

For this role, we require the successful candidate to have experience of working with children and young people and to have either completed Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management of Children’s Homes (or relevant qualification) or the commitment to complete this in an agreed timescale.

As Deputy Manager you will demonstrate real leadership and direction to enable staff to work at their best. You will provide on-the-ground support and drive change in finding solutions, building sustainable and meaningful relationships.

You will be responsible for supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management and leadership of the service and deputising for them in their absence. This includes attending key meetings, ensuring Ofsted requirements are met, rota preparation and management, health and safety, staff supervision and appraisal.

We are looking for a candidate who is a strong communicator, who is organised, with an eye for detail, child focused in their approach, able to advocate for and empower young people and lead teams to work to the best of their ability and give children exciting life opportunities.

The role of Deputy Manager is dynamic and diverse, requiring a confident, autonomous individual to drive forward practice. We are looking for an innovative professional with experience and resilience in working with young people with complex needs.

You will ideally be able to demonstrate evidence of experience within a regulated care setting and have experience of working with children or adults with disabilities. Experience of working in a multi-agency environment is essential and IT competence is also necessary

Hours of work are Monday to Friday in the main but there may be times when other hours are required. You will take part in an out of hours standby rota after completion of induction for the CRC's across North Yorkshire for which an allowance is paid.

For an informal discussion please contact James Cliffe (Group Manager No Wrong Door) on James.Cliffe@northyorks.gov.uk or 01609 797495 or Suzanne Hunt (Head of Disabled Children’s Service) on suzanne.hunt@northyorks.gov.uk or 01609 536837.
