An Enabling Support Worker is an ambassador of UBU. Providing bespoke ‘Person-Led’ daily living support. Being responsible for delivering, punctually and respectfully, what we have promised at all times. You will support people to achieve their goals in life. To choose what they would like in life and support people to look at ways of achieving this. Employee’s can bring their own interests and skills to the role to support people to try new experiences and gain new skills.

 

UBU provide support to clients in their supported living and registered house. You will support adults with learning Disabilities to be as independent as possible. This includes cooking, shopping, maintaining a clean safe home with people and some personal care. You will also support people to take part in activities in the community.

 

As an Enabling Support Worker your shifts can start at 7am the latest time at work is 10pm. For employees working thirty hours or more sleep shifts may be done (usually, one per week) and these are paid at £62.00 per night. There are no waking shifts.

 

Candidates will either hold a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social care or have the willingness to work towards. All mandatory training is provided as well as support specific training. Once probation has been passed employees can enrol to work on Diploma level 2 in Health and Social care and also level 3. UBU provides lots of training and encourages staff working with them to progress in a career with the company.
