Our Team

 

The Insurance & Risk Management Service provides advice and support across the council, as well as to other partner organisations including Richmond and Selby District Councils, National Parks Authorities and the companies of which we are a shareholder.  The Service also handles and manages insurance claims from the council, external customers and members of the public.

 

We have two great opportunities to join our Insurance and Risk Management Team.

 

Insurance and Risk Management Technician

Grade H

Salary: £24,982 to £27,741

Permanent Full time Hybrid working

 

The role

 

As our Insurance and Risk Management Technician, you will provide advice and information about insurance, claims and risk management. You will assist with the arrangement of insurances, handle all types of complex insurance claims and provide statistical information for all requirements. You will do this by undertaking a range of duties within the Insurance and Risk Management Service

 

 

Assistant Insurance and Risk Management Technician

Grade F

Salary: £20,493 to £22,627

Permanent Full time Hybrid working

 

The role

 

As our Assistant Insurance and Risk management Technician you will provide advice and information about insurance, risk management and handle all types of insurance claims. You will also assist with arranging mid-term policy changes.  The post holder will do this by undertaking a range of duties within the Insurance and Risk Management Service

 

What you will bring

 

For both positions you will have excellent communication and customer care skills, be well-organised and flexible individuals who have excellent ICT skills along with good literacy, numeracy and attention to detail.  You must be able to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines and have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as effectively working as part of a team.

You will also have knowledge of Data Protection and information security as accuracy and attention to detail is critical together with a strong commitment to confidentiality of personal information, as you will deal directly with members of the public.

Ideally, we would like candidates who hold the relevant insurance qualifications, however, we would welcome applications who have experience in the insurance sector as training will be provided and you will have the opportunity to gain the qualification.

Whilst you as a candidate are applying for a vacancy with an individual District, Borough or the County Council, if you are successfully appointed, you will become an employee of your council only up to March 2023. From April 2023 their employment contract will migrate to a newly formed unitary Council.
