Area Senior Educational Psychologist

Salary: Up to £60,690 per annum pro rata, plus 3% recruitment payment + relocation support up to £8,000.

Location: Within North Yorkshire. The service very much promotes flexible working with the ability to work remotely from a range of bases across North Yorkshire, as well as working from home. We provide exceptional technology, providing all the equipment to support home based working, whatever makes sense and is suitable to provide the best service.

We are looking for an Area Senior Educational Psychologist to join our team, working within either the Harrogate or Selby SEND hub.

This is a great time to be joining our service, in April 2020 we created locality based hubs of SEND professionals, including SEN caseworkers, educational psychologists, specialist teachers and practitioners, together with speech and language therapists and occupational therapists. Based within four localities across North Yorkshire, the hubs are responsible for working closely with schools and settings to identify children early and to ensure they receive appropriate support and interventions to meet their special educational needs.

You will contribute to the ongoing development of the Service and contribute to the further development of the Hubs in meeting the needs of children with SEND and building capacity across professional and education settings. You will be responsible for the line management and professional supervision of Educational Psychologists in the hub and for undertaking and monitoring casework ensuring it is of high quality and appropriate to need.

To be successful you must have a masters or doctorate level qualification in Educational Psychology and be registered with the HCPC; have experience of varied and relevant work with children, young people and their families in a number of education and other settings; be creative and forward thinking with the   knowledge, skills, enthusiasm and willingness to use psychological frameworks to facilitate positive change; have experience of supervising and/or line managing staff.
