We are currently looking for Occupational Therapists to join our Scarborough & Whitby team on a part time basis with a blended approach to home and on-site working.

 

Our team includes exclusively Occupational Therapists responsible for assessing adults, older people, children and people with physical, sensory and mental health conditions. We are a key part of our Health and Adult service which is an exciting and friendly place of work, committed to delivering services to its local community and providing opportunities for our local residents.

 

The team will be led by an OT team manager and a support structure will be headed by the principle OT. We also have a senior OT allied to the team who supports with professional issues and development and provides regular peer support. Additionally, we work closely with OT’s working within the NHS in the Scarborough & Whitby area.

This aims to support more people to live longer, healthier and independent lives.

 

As an OT your focus will be to maximise the independence and safety of vulnerable people in North Yorkshire who have social care needs using a person centred approach. This will be achieved by undertaking assessments with vulnerable people using the Directorate’s procedures. You will also play a key role in supporting people and carers who have been assessed as being in need through the provision of advice, support, equipment and adaptations to develop appropriate support plans to meet their preferred outcomes within specified resources.

 

Looking for innovative solutions to people's needs and promoting assets based assessment and support in people’s communities and well as assisting people with care and support needs, working with them to develop creative solutions will be fundamental.

 

We ask that you have a professional Occupational Therapist qualification or are in the process of qualifying and registration with the HCPC and have a comprehensive knowledge of current legislation, including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Equalities Act, Deprivation of Liberty, Best Interest Assessments, Moving and Handling Regulations and the Mental Health Act.

As stipulated in the amended  Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014, post holders must demonstrate evidence of having had a complete course of an authorised COVID-19 vaccine.
