Salary: £34,788 to £38,813 Full time – Fixed Term until March 2021 with the potential to extend.

We are seeking Business Development Manager to join our Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) team and drive forward our collaborative Grow Yorkshire program. You will be instrumental in helping our farming and food community responding to change and transforming the industry as we leave the Common Agricultural Policy, in a program which is already recognised nationally for it’s outstanding practice.

You will be responsible for liaising with Stakeholders to understand their requirements and how we can support them to deliver their agendas. The role involves establishing new support programmes, and securing funding to enable that. Given the national profile of this regional programme, you will be working closely with Government colleagues and other national policy makers. This will demand travelling both within and the region and further afield.

This role will give you the opportunity to be innovative, creative, be part of a supportive team as well as making a real difference to the development of the economy of York, North York and East riding.

Grow Yorkshire is regionally and internationally recognised as good practice in helping the farming industry to deal with change, it will be a challenging but very rewarding role as you will be using their influence and insight to drive change in the farming community and enable them to be more proactive in leading on activity. This is a great opportunity to develop and define the role.

To be successful you must:
  • Be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience 
  • Have enterprising approach to developing solutions, able to problem solve and work effectively with others to create solutions. 
  • Be an exceptional communicator both in person and via other mediums.
  • Have experience in economic development or business development 
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of partnership working 
  • Be ability to engage, influence and effect change, understanding the key drivers for successful communication
